About Us
CaminoBeds was born in 2025 in Bercianos del Real Camino, a small village in León where the Camino de Santiago is lived every day. After years managing a Camino hostel since 2017 (Albergue Bercianos 1900), the need arose to create a platform that facilitates accommodation booking for pilgrims.
From within the Camino itself, we identified a clear need: to improve communication between pilgrims and hostels. That's why CaminoBeds accompanies pilgrims at every stage of the Camino de Santiago, offering a responsible, safe and simple way to book accommodation, so that rest becomes part of the journey rather than another worry.
Therefore, CaminoBeds' mission is to connect hostels and pilgrims in a simple, clear way adapted to the real experience of the Camino.
CaminoBeds is committed to a more human, close and peaceful way of travelling and managing accommodation, where booking is not a concern and rest is a natural part of the journey.
I. Intermediation Agreement
1. Duration and termination of the agreement
This agreement shall have an indefinite duration from the moment of acceptance by the Accommodation during the registration process on the CaminoBeds platform.
The Accommodation may unregister from the platform and terminate this agreement at any time by written notice to CaminoBeds. For its part, CaminoBeds may terminate this agreement or temporarily suspend the Accommodation's profile in the event of serious breach of the obligations set out in this agreement, repeated booking failures, false information, conduct that harms the operation of the platform, or failure to comply with applicable regulations.
Termination of the agreement shall not affect confirmed bookings made prior to the effective termination date, which shall be honoured by both parties unless otherwise agreed between them.
Furthermore, termination of the agreement shall not exempt the Accommodation from payment of any commissions or amounts outstanding generated prior to the termination date.
2. Identification of the parties
On the one hand,
GET BEDS S.L., a commercial company incorporated under Spanish law, with CIF B24822249, registered office at Calle Mayor 49, Bercianos del Real Camino, León, and email address hello@caminobeds.com, owner and operator of the CaminoBeds digital platform (hereinafter, "CaminoBeds" or "the Platform").
And on the other hand,
The owner or legal representative of the accommodation registering on the CaminoBeds platform (hereinafter, "the Accommodation"), whose identifying, fiscal, and contact details are provided during the registration process on the platform.
Both parties, acknowledging they have sufficient legal capacity to contract, agree to enter into this Intermediation Agreement, which shall be governed by the following clauses.
3. Purpose of the agreement
The purpose of this agreement is to regulate the conditions under which CaminoBeds provides the Accommodation with access to its digital platform, enabling it to:
- Publish its establishment on the platform
- Display availability of beds, rooms, or other types of accommodation
- Receive bookings from pilgrims or travellers
- Manage such bookings through the technological tools provided by the platform
CaminoBeds acts exclusively as a technological intermediary between the Accommodation and the pilgrim or end customer.
Consequently, the accommodation contract is formalised directly between the pilgrim and the Accommodation, the latter being solely responsible for the provision of the accommodation service.
4. Registration of the accommodation on the platform
To use the platform, the Accommodation must complete the registration process by providing truthful, complete and up-to-date information, including among others:
- Name of the establishment
- Owner or management company
- Address of the accommodation
- Tourist registration number, where applicable
- Tax details
- Contact information
- Photographs of the establishment
- Description of facilities and services
The Accommodation guarantees that all information provided is accurate and reflects the reality of the establishment.
CaminoBeds may request additional documentation to verify the authenticity of the information provided.
5. Publication of the accommodation
Once the registration is approved, the Accommodation may publish on the platform information relating to its establishment, including:
- Availability of beds or rooms
- Prices
- Included services
- Accommodation conditions
- Photographs
- Additional services
The Accommodation is solely responsible for the accuracy of such information.
CaminoBeds reserves the right to review, moderate or request modifications to published content when it considers it may be misleading, incorrect, or contrary to applicable regulations.
6. Booking system
Pilgrims or users may make bookings through the CaminoBeds platform.
A booking shall be considered confirmed when the user completes the booking process on the platform in accordance with the established conditions.
Once confirmed, the Accommodation shall receive a notification via the platform or through the contact details provided.
The Accommodation undertakes to honour confirmed bookings made through the platform.
7. Prices and availability
The Accommodation is solely responsible for:
- Setting the prices for its beds or rooms
- Managing its availability
- Updating its occupancy calendar
- Defining the specific conditions of its rates
CaminoBeds does not modify or set the Accommodation's prices.
However, the Accommodation undertakes to keep its availability up to date to avoid situations of overbooking or unjustified cancellations.
The Accommodation shall have full freedom to set the prices and conditions for its beds, rooms, and services.
However, given that CaminoBeds applies lower commissions than other online intermediation platforms, the Accommodation undertakes not to artificially increase the prices published on CaminoBeds for the sole purpose of matching the final amount offered on other platforms with higher commissions.
This commitment shall not prevent the Accommodation from offering promotions, discounts, or special advantages through its own direct channels, or from conducting one-off commercial actions on other sales channels.
CaminoBeds may prioritise on the platform those accommodations that offer particularly competitive conditions for users.
8. Platform commission
For each booking made through the platform, CaminoBeds shall charge the Accommodation an intermediation commission, the percentage of which is as follows depending on the type of accommodation:
- TEN PERCENT (10%) FOR HOSTELS (ALBERGUES)
- TWELVE PERCENT (12%) FOR GUESTHOUSES, PENSIONS, AND RURAL HOUSES.
The commission shall be calculated on the net amount of the booking, excluding taxes, fees, and other items unrelated to the accommodation service, unless expressly agreed otherwise.
The economic conditions may be modified by CaminoBeds subject to reasonable prior notice to the Accommodation.
For calculation purposes, the booking amount shall mean the price of the stay corresponding to the reserved bed or room and any additional services contracted through the platform, before the application of taxes.
In the event that, for operational or commercial reasons, the commission is applied on the total amount including taxes, this shall be expressly communicated to the Accommodation.
The economic conditions, including the commission percentage, may be modified by CaminoBeds subject to prior notice to the Accommodation of a reasonable period, which shall in no case be less than 15 calendar days.
9. Payment system
Bookings made through the platform may be managed through two modalities:
Payment at the accommodation
In this modality, payment for the booking is made directly at the accommodation by the pilgrim.
The Accommodation shall not be required to register with external payment gateways (such as Stripe).
CaminoBeds shall issue a monthly invoice to the Accommodation for the commissions generated, which shall be paid by direct debit or other means agreed between the parties.
Online payment
In this modality, the pilgrim makes payment at the time of booking through the CaminoBeds platform.
The Accommodation must register with the payment gateway enabled by CaminoBeds (currently Stripe or equivalent).
CaminoBeds shall act as intermediary in the collection and shall automatically transfer the corresponding amounts to the Accommodation, according to the payment terms established in this agreement.
Payments to the Accommodation shall be made 7 days after the checkout date of the booking, in order to manage any possible cancellations, modifications, incidents, or claims related to the stay.
Booking guarantee and No-Show
For all bookings, CaminoBeds may require the pilgrim to provide a bank card as a guarantee.
The user, by providing their payment details, expressly accepts the following condition:
«By entering their card, the user authorises the charge of the corresponding amount in the event of no-show or late cancellation.»
In the event of no-show or late cancellation:
- CaminoBeds shall manage the collection of the corresponding amount using the card provided by the user.
- The Accommodation may decide, individually and according to its policy, whether or not to proceed with the collection of said amount.
If the charge is successfully made, CaminoBeds shall transfer the corresponding amount to the Accommodation in accordance with the established payment terms.
No-show shall be deemed to have occurred when the pilgrim:
- Does not present themselves at the accommodation on the expected arrival date, or
- Does not communicate the cancellation before the deadline established by the Accommodation
Cancellation policies
Flexible rate:
- Cancellations shall be free of charge up to the deadline defined by the Accommodation (___ hours before the arrival date).
- After this deadline, the booking may be considered a late cancellation or no-show.
Late cancellations
In the event of late cancellation:
- The Accommodation may request collection of the first night or the total booking amount, according to its policy.
- CaminoBeds shall manage the collection using the card provided by the user.
Payment terms to the accommodation
Online payment
CaminoBeds shall make payments to the Accommodation on a weekly basis, via automatic transfer through the payment gateway.
Direct payment to the accommodation
- The Accommodation shall collect payment directly from the pilgrim at the establishment.
- In the event of a no-show managed by CaminoBeds, the collected amount shall be automatically transferred to the Accommodation.
Management of non-payments
In cases where collection cannot be made due to:
- Insufficient funds
- Invalid card
- Charge rejected by the banking entity
CaminoBeds does not guarantee recovery of the corresponding amount.
Recommendation for online payment
CaminoBeds recommends the Accommodation to use the online payment modality, as it allows for more automated booking management, significantly reduces the percentage of no-shows, and minimises the risk of non-payments.
To activate this modality, the Accommodation must create and maintain an active account with the payment gateway enabled by CaminoBeds (currently Stripe or any other equivalent that may be established in the future).
The Stripe registration process is simple and is carried out online, requiring the provision of basic details of the accommodation owner, tax information, and a bank account for receipt of payments.
Once registration is complete and the account verified, the Accommodation may automatically receive the amounts of bookings managed through CaminoBeds, in accordance with the established payment terms.
CaminoBeds may provide the Accommodation with instructions or basic assistance for account setup, without assuming responsibility for the registration, verification, or functioning of the payment gateway.
10. Cancellations by the accommodation
The Accommodation undertakes to honour confirmed bookings made through the CaminoBeds platform.
In the event that, due to exceptional circumstances, the Accommodation is unable to provide the reserved service, it must notify CaminoBeds and the affected pilgrim as soon as possible.
The Accommodation shall be solely responsible for cancellations, overbookings, or breaches related to bookings accepted through the platform.
When a cancellation attributable to the Accommodation occurs, CaminoBeds may:
- Inform the affected user and provide basic assistance in finding available alternatives.
- Record the incident in the Accommodation's internal history.
- Apply quality control measures or visibility restrictions on the platform in the event of repeated incidents.
- Temporarily suspend or remove the Accommodation's profile in serious or repeated cases.
CaminoBeds shall not assume any financial responsibility arising from cancellations attributable to the Accommodation, which shall be solely responsible to the pilgrim or end user.
11. Rating system
CaminoBeds shall have a rating and comments system associated with bookings made through the platform.
Only users who have made and completed a booking through CaminoBeds may submit ratings.
Structure of ratings
Ratings shall be submitted by means of:
- A numerical score from 1 to 10 (with the possibility of decimals)
- Specific subcategories, which may include, among others:
- Cleanliness
- Location
- Service
- Facilities
- Comfort
- Value for money
- Food (where applicable)
CaminoBeds may modify, add or remove categories at any time to improve the system.
Publication of ratings
- Ratings shall not be publicly displayed until the Accommodation has a minimum of 5 ratings.
- Once this minimum is reached, the overall average score shall be displayed along with the platform's own visual system.
Moderation system
CaminoBeds reserves the right to review ratings before publication, especially in the following cases:
- Ratings with particularly low scores
- Offensive, false content or content not related to the actual experience
- Comments that violate applicable regulations
CaminoBeds may decline to publish, modify, or delete ratings that do not meet these criteria.
Accommodation's right of reply
The Accommodation may publicly respond to each rating received by means of a single comment.
Said response shall be visible alongside the user's rating.
Editing and deletion of ratings
Users may not directly modify or delete their ratings once published.
Upon a justified request, CaminoBeds may review and, if appropriate, modify or delete the rating.
Quality commitment and standard control
CaminoBeds' rating system aims to offer the pilgrim a high-quality experience, facilitating the identification of accommodations that meet the expected standards along the Camino de Santiago.
CaminoBeds works to offer an excellent level of service to users, promoting those accommodations that, through verified ratings, demonstrate a high level of quality in aspects such as cleanliness, service, comfort, and facilities.
In this regard, CaminoBeds may establish minimum quality criteria required of accommodations present on the platform.
When an accommodation accumulates a significant number of negative ratings or CaminoBeds detects a repeated pattern of incidents, complaints, or unfavourable comments related to the quality of service offered, CaminoBeds may:
- Limit its visibility on the platform
- Request the adoption of corrective measures
- Temporarily suspend its profile
- Or permanently remove it from the platform
All of the above unless the Accommodation demonstrates that it has rectified the identified issues within a reasonable period.
In any case, CaminoBeds shall act as intermediary and does not individually guarantee the achievement of a specific quality level for each stay, the Accommodation being solely responsible for the service provided to the pilgrim.
Prior review procedure for negative ratings
With the aim of ensuring the veracity of ratings and encouraging resolution of incidents between the parties, ratings with low scores (1 and 2 out of 10) may be subject to a prior review process before publication.
In such cases:
- The rating shall not be published immediately.
- CaminoBeds shall notify the corresponding Accommodation, facilitating the opening of a communication channel between the pilgrim and the Accommodation.
- Both parties may exchange information with the aim of clarifying the incident or, if appropriate, resolving it.
The pilgrim shall have the option to:
- Maintain their original rating
- Modify it
- Or voluntarily withdraw it
After a reasonable period without resolution, or at the pilgrim's decision, the rating may be published together with the available information.
CaminoBeds reserves the right to intervene in this process and to decide on the final publication of the rating based on criteria of veracity, relevance, and compliance with applicable regulations.
12. Limitation of liability
CaminoBeds acts exclusively as a technological intermediary between the Accommodation and the pilgrim or end user, providing a digital platform for the management and making of bookings.
CaminoBeds is not a party to the accommodation contract concluded between the Accommodation and the user, and shall therefore not be responsible for the actual provision of the accommodation service, or for any incidents, damages, losses, claims, or harm arising from the stay, cancellations, overbookings, service quality, or breaches attributable to the Accommodation or the user.
Similarly, CaminoBeds does not guarantee the continuous and uninterrupted availability of the platform and shall not be responsible for interruptions, technical errors, IT incidents, internet failures, server outages, or incidents arising from third-party services, including payment gateways, technology providers, or external services integrated into the platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CaminoBeds' total liability to the Accommodation for any claim arising from this agreement shall be limited to the amount of commissions effectively collected by CaminoBeds in relation to the booking subject to the claim during the TWELVE (12) months prior to the event giving rise to such liability.
Nothing in this clause shall exclude CaminoBeds' liability in those cases where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
13. Applicable law and jurisdiction
This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Spanish law.
For any dispute, conflict or claim arising from the interpretation, performance, or validity of this agreement, the parties expressly submit to the Courts and Tribunals of León, waiving any other jurisdiction that may correspond to them, unless applicable law imperatively establishes a different one.
14. Data protection
Both parties undertake to comply with current regulations on personal data protection, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights (LOPDGDD).
Each party shall be responsible for the processing of personal data that it manages in the course of its activities and undertakes to adopt the necessary technical and organisational measures to guarantee its security and confidentiality.
The Accommodation acknowledges that the data of pilgrims or users provided through the platform may only be used for the proper management of the booking and provision of the contracted service, and its use for other purposes not authorised by the user or applicable law is prohibited.
CaminoBeds may process the data necessary for the management of the platform, bookings, payments, customer service, and compliance with legal obligations, in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
15. Electronic acceptance of the agreement
Acceptance of this agreement shall take place electronically during the Accommodation's registration process on the CaminoBeds platform.
By checking the corresponding box and completing the registration process, the Accommodation declares that it has read, understood, and fully accepted the content of this agreement, and is bound by all its clauses and conditions.
Electronic acceptance shall have the same legal validity and effect as a handwritten signature, in accordance with applicable law.
